Arduino Programming

Arduino Programming Arduino is a platform where coding is simplified for educational purposes. We were given the Arduino Maker board which could make our coding turn to life. There are many things that we could create with creativity using the Arduino board. It could generate leg lights, melodies, control servo motors and many more! Resistors From this lesson, we have learnt how to calculate the resistance of the resistors based on the colour stripes on it. Each colour represents a number. Let's learn how to calculate! Since the first line is red, the first digit will be : 2 The second line is orange, hence the second digit will be : 3 The third line is yellow, hence the multiplier is 10^4 Therefore the resistance is : 23 x 10^4 = 230 k Ω Tolerance = +/- 10% Arduino Practical In this practical, our group was challenged to make a cardboard cutout unicorn's wings to flap using the Arduino motor.  We attached a single wing to the Arduino servo motor. We were given a limited supply...

Laser Cutting

Laser Cutting In this lesson, I've learnt many things about laser cutting from using the software to create the product, to operating the laser cutting machine. A laser cutting is able to cut or engrave a material to the user's desired design and shape.  How does a CO2 laser cutter work?  There will be a tubing filled with CO2 and N2 gas where high voltage electricity is being passed through. The electricity will excite the gas particles in the tube which will produce a high power beam of laser which is strong enough to engrave and even cut through a material!  What is raster and vector?   Raster is an image that will appear blurry if being zoomed in as it is made up of pixels while vector images will remain clear when zoomed in as it is made of lines and points. Vector images are made of geometrical shapes and made from mathematical equations. This will also differ as a result of laser cutting using either these two modes. Examples of file types for Raster im...

CAD Part 2

Image
CAD Part 2 During week 2's lesson, I've learnt about CAD using Fusion 360. I've learnt how to add parameters to make the creation of products much easier. I have created a phone stand by using this method which helped me with much efficiency. Phone Stand Adding Parameters I listed the exact measurements for the sketch of my phone stand. This will make the sketching of my phone stand much more efficient and less time consuming as the measurements have been organized accordingly. Sketching I sketched by selecting the 'Line' option. I applied my parameters and adjusted to my preferred angles by selecting the 'Sketch Dimension' option. Extrude After finishing my sketch, I extruded to 100mm to bring my sketch to life! This wil also be the foundation of the phone stand. Altering the base In order to alter the shape of the phone stand, I toggled to the bottom base of the phone stand and created another sketch on it. I tilted the line 10 degrees towards the inner si...
