CAD Part 2
CAD Part 2
During week 2's lesson, I've learnt about CAD using Fusion 360. I've learnt how to add parameters to make the creation of products much easier. I have created a phone stand by using this method which helped me with much efficiency.
Phone Stand
Adding Parameters
I listed the exact measurements for the sketch of my phone stand. This will make the sketching of my phone stand much more efficient and less time consuming as the measurements have been organized accordingly.
Sketching
I sketched by selecting the 'Line' option. I applied my parameters and adjusted to my preferred angles by selecting the 'Sketch Dimension' option.
Extrude
After finishing my sketch, I extruded to 100mm to bring my sketch to life! This wil also be the foundation of the phone stand.
Altering the base
Cutting to desired shape
In order to do this, I clicked 'Split Face' under 'Modify' to select the parts that I want to cut out. This Split Face process will be show in the next picture.
Split Face
Finalised shape
This my final shape of the phone stand. This shape allows maximum stability when using it as the phone will add a weight to the holder of the phone stand.
Fillet
Slots
To make a slot so that the phone could be charged while in use, I selected 'centre-to-centre slot' under 'Sketch'. I selected a measurement of 15mm. I changed the bottom curve line of the oval shape to a construction line (not shown in picture) as it will not be part of the sketch.
Extruding the slot to cut
Thickness
I added a thickness of 1mm to maintain that sleek appearance but also thick enough to withstand the weight of the phone.
Fillet all edges
Lastly, I rounded all sharp edges that could potentially injure the user by using 'Fillet' to a radius of 1mm.
Final product :D
